MAC & Archie Comics 2013

M·A·C Cosmetics and Archie Comics are collaborating on a full colour cosmetics collection celebrating the iconic looks of Betty and Veronica. Coming Spring 2013.

The collection will celebrate the iconic looks of Betty and Veronica!  I can’t tell you how excited I am for this- I was a huge fan of Archie Comics and grew up reading them! I can’t wait to see what the collection looks like!

We want to know who you think should win Archie’s heart. Tell MAC by texting “Betty” or “Veronica” to 898622 to support their favorite girl. Fans of the winner will be the first to hear when the collection is available online Spring 2013. Msg &Data rates may apply http://bit.ly/OCjeVK.

I was always partial to Betty so I will be voting for her! I wonder if she wins, if the collection would be filled with golds and highlighters, maybe new MSF's? If Veronica was to win I could see the makeup having a new red lipstick for sure and possibly some new black liquid eyeliners!

M·A·C Cosmetics kicks-off the start of San Diego Comic Con with a special event at our Gaslamp store with celebrated American comic book artist and illustrator, Dan Parent of the famed Archie Comics series, which introduced the world to beloved fictional teenagers Archie, Jughead, Betty and Veronica!

Dan will demonstrate illustrations and provide custom sketches for fans who drop into the M·A·C Cosmetics location just steps away from the San Diego Convention Center.

A street team of Archie’s will be walking around the streets of San Diego, encouraging fans to meet Dan at M·A·C Gaslamp. You can follow them with the below handles!

@MACcosmetics
#MACArchiesGirls

Who will you vote for? I haven't really been excited for a new MAC collection in a while. I even wasn't that thrilled with the summer collection. I can't believe I will have to wait until 2013 to find out who wins! Leave a comment below and let me know who you will vote for!
Until Next Time,

My Current Perfume Collection

I have been getting a lot of requests lately to do a post about my current perfume collection. I have been wearing perfume for as long as I can remember. A lot of these perfumes go pretty far back but below is a picture of my current favorites. I store them on a black leather tray (I think I got it at T.J. Maxx) on my dresser.

Let me start at the back row from left to right.
1) Jessica McClintock by Jessica McClintock Perfume-This perfume is a little strong for me so I very rarely wear it.

2) Cabotine by Parfums Gres-I simply adore this perfume! This is the second bottle I have owned. It used to by my signature scent and I would get TONS of compliments on it!

3) Fantasy by Britney Spears-I am probably most embarrassed to let people know I own one of her perfumes but every time I wear it, without a doubt, I get a ton of compliments on it. And to be perfectly honest it really smells awesome!

4) Giorgio Perfume by Giorgio Beverly Hills-This one is a oldie but a goodie!

5) Sarah Jessica Parker Lovely-I think my friends get more use out of this one then I do.

6) Juicy Couture Couture Couture-I am loving this perfume! Out of all the different Juicy Couture perfumes this one is far and away my favorite.

7) Chanel Cristalle-I think every woman has that one "expensive" perfume that they only wear on special occasions and this is mine.
Third row from left to right.

8) Burberry London-I wore this perfume for a year straight. I always got people asking me what I was wearing. I only have a tiny bit left so I am saving it for a special occasion.

9) Bath and Body Works Moonlight Path-This is the only scent I really like from B&BW.

10) Vera Wang Princess-I like this but it is nothing special.

11) Kate Spade-This was her first perfume. It was sadly discounted and sells for a really high price on eBay. However, it has scents of Honeysuckle and something else that is indescribable. It is AMAZING!!

12) Juicy Couture Original and Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy minis-I like Viva better but both smell great!

13) Burberry Classic-This is the original scent. I always wear this to job interviews or work events. I feel like it is very sophisticated. It has a blend of peach, apricot, sandalwood, cedar, amber and musk.

Second row from left to right.

14) Marc Jacobs Daisy-I had LOLA as well but didn't like it as much. This one is more my speed.

15) DIOR Miss Dior Cheri-This is my other really "expensive" perfume that I only wear on special occasions. I think this is one of the most different and interesting perfumes I have ever smelled. At first I didn't like it, but then it grew on me.

16) Chloe-I love this scent as well! Very different from other scents I have tried.

17) Michael Kors Very Hollywood-I like this perfume but it is not one of my favorites.

18) MAC Turquatic-This is the older version of this perfume but my favorite of all their scents. I had to get it when I thought they were going to discontinue it-little did I know they were just revamping it. Thanks god..lol

First Row from left to right

19) The next 5 perfumes are from Pacifica. I love this line. There perfumes are really affordable and smell great! The first one is Malibu Lemon Blossom, then Tuscan Blood Orange, then Indian Coconut Nectar, Tahitian Gardenia, and finally Hawaiian Ruby Guava. Tahitian Gardenia is my current everyday signature fragrance. I get compliments on it ALL the time. People tell me that they either usually don't wear perfume or can't handle the smell of it on other people but they LOVE this scent. And the whole bottle is on $22!! Can you believe it!! Such a steal!!

20) Thierry Mugler Alien-I just got this perfume and started wearing it. I have to say I wasn't a huge fan of Angel like everyone else was but, I am a HUGE fan of Alien. I love it and will start to wear it on a regular basis.

21) Fresh Strawberry Flowers-This is a good summer scent.

22) The last 3 are from Victoria Secret-Heavenly, Desire, Pink with a Splash Sweet and Flirty and Pink with a Splash of Fresh and Clean (not pictured). Out of all the VS scents Pink's Fresh and Clean is def. my fave! It's a great summer scent!

For now, that is the whole collection! Sorry it was such a long post but I hope you enjoyed it! I am sure I will be adding some more perfumes to my collection soon. I am really lemming Jo Malone's Wild Bluebell, and Dolce & Gabbana's Rose The One. Any perfumes you want to try that aren't on my list? I would love to see your perfume stash in the comments with a link below. Until next time...

MAC's Hey, Sailor!! Collection

MAC will launch their annual Summer collection on May 24th, 2012 and this year’s theme is called “Hey, Sailor!” This is one of the biggest collections MAC has done! I'm so excited! The packaging itself looks amazing. The Hey, Sailor collection includes lipsticks, lipglass, Pro Longwear Lip Pencils, eye pencils, eye shadows, nail polish, bronzer, high-light powders, blushes, and more! Below are a few pictures from the collection. What is your favorite?

I am pretty excited they are also releasing a nautical bag with this collection. I missed last year's Back to the Beach-Beach Bag and I really wanted it. I was kicking myself for not getting it so, I will be sure to def. pick up the bag they are releasing with this year's summer collection! Now on to the makeup!!

The blushes are every one's favorite part of a LE collection. Let's take a look:

From left to right: Launch Away!, Crew, Fleet Fast

Next on to the Lipsticks:
From left to right: Salute! To Catch A Sailor, Sail La Vie, Red Racer

My Personal Favorite-The Bronzers
From Left to Right:Soft Sand, Sun Dipped (Pro Longwear), Refined Golden, Nude On Board (Pro Longwear).
Refined Golden is my everyday staple bronzer and when it comes out in a LE collection I always pick it up! However, I might have to pick up all 4 of these bronzers because I am loving them all!!

 The Eye shadows:
From Left to Right: Jaunty, Barefoot, Crystal Avalanche, Feeling Fresh, Nautical

The Lipglosses:
From Left to Right: Cut Loose, Orange Tempera, Blessedly Rich, Riviera Life, Send Me Sailing

 The Lip Tints:
From Left to Right: Abalone, Au Rose, Sea Mist

Pigments and Nail polish:
From Left to Right: Old Gold, Naval Blue

 Lip Liners and Eye Pencils
From Left to Right: Saunter, Shore Leave, Throw Me A Line! Handforged, Emerald Sea, Blue Stripe

Besides the Bronzers of course the real "standout" products to me this year are
"To Catch a Sailor" Lipstick, "Fleet Fast" Blush, "Au Rose" Lip tint, and "Orange Tempera & Blessedly Rich" Lipglosses.

What are some of your current "lemmings" for this new collection? Leave a comment below and let me know! Until next time...

Click on the link below for a $10 off coupon at Pacifica!! They have the most amazing perfumes!!

I’m in love with these small perfumes from Pacifica. In the past couple of years, I’ve seen Pacifica perfumes here and there and have grabbed a couple of their scents whenever I had twenty two dollars in my pocket. Naturally, because of their small size and compatible fragrances, I began layering them—coming up with different combinations as I saw fit. And that’s exactly how Pacifica perfumes are meant to be used. My all time favorite is Tahitian Gardenia!! Everywhere I got I get a TON of compliments on how good I smell. People have even told me that I am not a huge perfume person but I love that scent!

If you’re looking for a great fragrance that won’t pollute the air in your home, or harm your precious and vital skin, then look no further than Pacifica. What is your favorite Pacifica Perfume? And don't forget:

5 Things You Didn't Know About Your Favorite Beauty Brands

Sorry I have been away from posting for so long. Life gets a little crazy sometimes. In honor of "Beauty Week" I found a pretty interesting article that Racked.com  wrote about some "behind the scenes" stories of your favorite beauty brands. Check it out below!

No matter how much we learn about beauty, we always enjoy discovering something new. Recently, we read Mark Tungate's book Branded Beauty: How Marketing Changed the Way We Look, and discovered all kinds of fun and crazy facts about the industry's most iconic brands. From Maybelline's dusty origins to Revlon's quiz show controversy, read on for five of the most surprising tidbits we unearthed about beauty brands you probably have in your bathroom right now.

MAX FACTOR
Born Maximilian Faktorowitz, the man who became Max Factor played his greatest makeup trick on himself. Although he was the official makeup artist to the royal court in Russia, he was Jewish and under constant surveillance. He wanted to escape the country with his wife and kids but knew that it would be a challenge. Thanks to a brilliant makeup job, Max managed to convince the royal doctor that his yellowing skin was the result of jaundice. He was allowed to go to a resort town to recuperate, and from there he fled the country and took a boat to America.

MAYBELLINE
The "she" in "maybe she's born with it" was a woman named Mabel Williams, whose brother TL named Maybelline in her honor. His first mascara was inspired by his sister, who mixed Vaseline with coal dust and then put the mixture on her eyelashes. TL Williams made his first mascara in 1917. In 1996, Maybelline was sold to L’Oreal for $758 million.

REVLON
If you’ve ever seen the movie Quiz Show, you know the story of the classic TV game shows that were totally rigged by the producers. The shows hired actors to play contestants, gave them the answers, and chose the results ahead of time to craft maximum drama. One of the shows, The Question, also got in hot water when allegations surfaced that Revlon, who advertised on the program, had a say in which contestants made it to the air, with a preference for pretty ones who wore Revlon products.

THE BODY SHOP
In the 1970s, Dame Anita Roddick founded The Body Shop in her native England. The premise of the store was that all the products were derived from natural materials and inspired by things Roddick had discovered on her various trips around the world. Although the dark green paint in the store soon became one of the brand's trademarks, it wasn't an homage to the environment. The color was chosen because Roddick's shop had bad mold and the green was the only color that covered it up.

NIVEA
The German brand, owned by Beiersdorf, is another brand directly affected by antisemitism. After Jewish members of the board and management fled the Nazis, the company had to walk a very careful line in order to stay in business. Their ads, which featured tan, blonde young people, were often lumped in with pro-Aryan propaganda, even though Nivea didn't make any claims one way or the other about where their allegiances were. "Thanks to its diplomatic maneuvering and the ambiguity of its image," Tungate writes, "Beiersdorf survived the war intact. It entered the 1950s optimistic that Nivea remained a much-loved brand."
